My family and I had the chance to go visit my Dad in Florida for the first time in a few years. It was December, I had finished all of my editing for the holidays, and I didn't have any work on my mind. We were excited to get away, and escape the super cold weather that was upon us. My boys decided to be adventurous, and go parasailing. I on the other hand, decided to anxiously wait in the boat.  I'm not a huge fan of heights.

We had amazing weather, and such beautiful scenery. It's fun to see the vegetation that doesn't grow in Illinois: Palm trees, cacti, Hibiscus.

I can see why people go there to retire. I love sitting on the beach with a book, and letting the waves wash over my feet. I'm easily pleased with something as simple as that. If that was the only thing we were able to do the whole time I would have been thrilled. The photos I took, except for the family one, were taken with my Canon.  The pictures below were taken with my phone.

It was nice to see my boys relaxed, and to visit with my Dad. I know he had really been wanting us to come down for a while.  Hopefully, we can get back soon.  Most of our past vacations were a lot of running around. This was not like that at all.  It truly was a vacation.
